Changzhou-made carriages and the London Olympics

Insiders see the subtleties, outsiders see the excitement. For most people, equestrian events at the Olympics are just a spectacle. Recently, reporters learned that in Changzhou, there is a company with an extraordinary relationship with equestrian sports. This company, named Changzhou Jiazhuo, manufactures solar-powered horse carriages that will arrive in London, the host city, on the opening day of the 2012 Olympics and may very well appear at the opening ceremony. Exporting more than 1000 horse carriages In the past, domestic equestrian competitions mostly used transport trucks and modified vehicles to transport horses, and injuries during transport occurred frequently. The production of horse transport vehicles is one of the most important supporting industries for equestrian sports in China.

The prospect for the development of domestic professional transport vehicles is broad.

Currently, domestic equestrian teams in China often use non-professional vehicles for equine transport during national competitions, resulting in frequent injuries to the horses during transport. In the process of improving and popularizing equestrian sports in China, in addition to a certain gap in technical level compared to other countries, there is also a significant gap in hardware, including highly specialized horse transport vehicles. The China Equestrian Association's focus on developing supporting industries for equestrian sports includes specialized horse transport vehicles. Currently, more than 20 provinces and cities across the country have equestrian teams, with nearly 70 equestrian clubs in Beijing alone and nearly 100,000 people employed in the industry, laying the foundation for horse racing and equestrian fitness sports to become professionalized.
